Digital Economy as a New Paradigm for Development

Summary/Abstract: The research objective is to identify key issues for and aspects of digital economy development in Russia. Both general scientific methods of cognition (combination ofhistorical and logical unity, traditional analysis and synthesis methods) and specific evaluationmethods served as a methodological basis for the research. The society development stages wereexamined. The role of digital economy as a new paradigm for development was substantiated. Goalsand targets of digital economy were identified. Positive effects for and risks to economic developmentassociated with implementation of digital technology were described. It has been established thatdigitalization paradigm has both positive and negative impacts.
