V. V. Rozanov – from Metaphysics of Sex to the Philosophy of History

Summary/Abstract: This text analyzes Rozanov‘s book Возрождающийся Египет (Reviving Egypt). Rozanov is the first European philosopher trying to explain, understand, and interpret certain historical periods through the relations that come into being in the sphere of sexual communion. Through these relations, according to him, are established the conditions of social development, the specificity of interpersonal relations, the characteristics of religious beliefs, the idiosyncrasies of various worldviews, and even the formation of social superstructures.
