Summary/Abstract: The Roman literature is an important source of the Roman law. The article examines the initial text of a letter from the poet Horace to his friend Flor. The letter is devoted to literary questions, but the issues discussed in the poetic art, the author used metaphorically different legal situations as in this case - purchase of property for the shortcomings.
