Summary/Abstract: The starting point for many companies including family businesses is the creation of the original item, ie. product, brand, advertising to stand out in the market and at the same time create a strong barrier to competition. Often, a tool for facilitating development of enterprise development vision becomes business model. The article presents the results of research conducted among randomly selected companies in the region of Lublin and Silesia. The purpose of this article is to attempt to identify the success factors of family companies as part of business models with the effect of increasing competitive advantage.
