Summary/Abstract: The attacks that took place in Paris last month in 2015, the influx of refugees into Europe and the rising number of attacks on refugee homes have put racism, which is a recurrent topic of discussion, back on the agenda in Germany. There are many definitions of racism, which is a broad and complex term. Classic racism in the colonial era has evolved with modernity and reappeared in various forms. This situation has required new theories and discourses. The definitions of racism, ranging from daily, cultural, political and religious life to the institutional sphere in a broad framework, have increased in parallel with this enlargement. In this context, this study aims to answer the question "what is actually racism?", To examine the current dimensions and manifestations of racism as a politicizing term and to submit this issue as a whole.
