Summary/Abstract: Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk is one of the most important literal works in the history of Turkish Language and Karahanlı Period. The original name as Kitâbü Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk is our first known dictionary in Turkish Language. This literal work was started to be written in 1072 and completed in 1077, then submitted to Abbasi Khalifa of Ebü’l-Kasım Abdullah. Main purpose of this literal work whose writer is Mahmud of Kashgar is to teach Turkish Language to Arabian People. This literal work shares with us lots of information about the language, culture, customs and traditions, food culture, clothes culture etc. when he scoured the earth on horseback. Ali Emirî Efendi who was born in Diyarbakır, purchased Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk from used-book bazaar in Beyazıt Istanbul which is the only handwritten manuscript. This literal work includes approximately 8000 words translated from Turkish to Arabic by explaining with samples collected from public language. In addition to these, besides being a world map which centers Turkish geography, it includes important information about Turkish tribes, customs, culture and traditions. The first research about Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk was conducted by Muallim Rıfat Bilge who was born in Kilis. After Besim Atalay translated it to Turkish language, lots of works and thesis studies was conducted. In our study the vocabulary which belongs to the matter of time was listed alphabetically. Determined vocabulary of Dîvânu Lugâti't-Türk collected under the titles as the vocabulary related to the day cycle, the vocabulary related to the month cycle and the vocabulary related to the seasons.
