Summary/Abstract: The subject matter of the article is the history outline of the tuberculosis sanatorium operated by the Health Care Organisation of the Jewish Population in Poland in Sokołowsko. The chronological framework is set by the date of the sanatorium foundation and the date of the Cabinet Resolution that transferred the ownership of the tuberculosis sanatoria into the State. The period that ensued after the World War 2 brought abrupt changes in health resort treatment, not excluding this centre. Simultaneously, Lower Silesia became a region with the largest community of Jews in the country. As regards the Health Care Organisation of the Jewish Population in Poland, it was grounded in the inter-war period. After 1945, it was reactivated at the Central Committee of Jews in Poland. Its scope of activity encompassed social activity and health care, including operating tuberculosis sanatoria. The establishment in Sokołowsko was one of the first in the region.
