Summary/Abstract: Introduction: The topic and objective of this paper is to show that, by means of identifying the situation of medical care centres in Germany, it is possible to examine the extent to which this integration attempt on the part of the German government can stand as an example for the health systems of the European Union. Objective: The object of study is medical care centres or other organisational forms in the medical sector in Germany and Europe, examples being the new medical-centre strategy in Germany or the ambulatory health care centres in the Netherlands. Results: This paper is able to show that these organisational forms are in fact becoming established on the medical market and can be considered indicative of the way forward. Conclusion: Medical care centres, medical centres and ambulatory health care centres are future models for medical work, but also for the medical economy and health care management. This structure is improving the work of doctors among each other and of the specialist medical staff, leading to optimisation in medical treatment for the patients.
