Summary/Abstract: The significance of social work has been increasing recently in Lithuania as the restructuring of social structures within society has strained many social, psychological and economic problems which affect in essence every family, every member of society. Recently in Lithuania interest in the theoretical aspects of social work as well as its practical potential has increased. Relying on the experience in other countries the model of team (multidisciplinary) social work was started to be applied in Lithuania. The aim of this paper is to analyse the conception related to the theoretical aspects of the model of team (multidisciplinary) social work as well as to reveal the essence of its introduction into practice in the research. The method of a questionnaire was selected to complete the research. 30 social workers engaged in various domains of social work took part in the research. Summarizing the research results it is possible to affirm that the surveyed social workers have insufficient theoretical knowledge related to the model of team (multidisciplinary) work. However, it is necessary to emphasize that all social workers have assented to the multidisciplinary aspect of the team social work model. Moreover, the surveyed social workers have acknowledged the significance of cooperation with specialists of other disciplines.
