Summary/Abstract: The article tells about the history of becoming of flute performance in Kiev, Kharkov and Odessa in the late nineteenth - early twentieth century, deep traditions of the national flute "schools" established by its founders. Highlights disparate biographical information about the outstanding flutists of the Central and Eastern Ukraine, who were standing at the beginnings of the National Flute Art.
