What Are We Heading for? Remarks on the Deficit of the Adult in Education and Social Life

Summary/Abstract: The author, making use of the concept of Ego states, analyses the conditions for forming the Adult state in the contemporary society. She pays special attention to characteristic features of mass culture and media, political and family context, and, above all, to education system. The conclusions she draws confirm the deficit of the Adult state in various spheres of reality and make us reflect on the impact of such a situation both on the development of individuals and on the condition of the society.
