Summary/Abstract: One of the main goals of the educational system is to train the qualified manpower and to provide the civic education of the citizens of a country. One of the most important points about education is, without doubt, the education of the teachers and their formation knowledge represents the teachers' teaching skills. The aim of the research is to make the students of the faculty of education evaluate the common courses they receive during their education. Within this framework, common major area courses that each student in RCME department takes have been examined. The participants of the study, which is designed in accordence with the descriptive survey model, are the students of the Faculty of Education in Ondokuz Mayis University, who took common major area courses in the spring semester of 2014-2015 Academic Year. According to the results of the survey, the majority of the students have a positive attitude towards the major area courses for raising an awareness of professional and ethical responsibilities, helping their social and cultural development, supporting their vocational development and providing them with the necessary analytical skills. Besides the majority of the students think that the contents of major area courses are in line with the instructional objectives and their workload value.
