Summary/Abstract: The reinstatement of Lithuania's independence, the establishment of the market economy and international integration have brought essential changes into technical and other universities of the country. The need to strengthen links between the subjects taught at the universities and everyday problems, to enlarge the amount of independent studies and the amount of research has become urgent.
