Summary/Abstract: The text is a brief presentation of selected autobiographies (broadly defined) and one novel,written by women, in which important issue is a journey to Italy. Treated as recreational,as a life necessity, a moment of respite, voluntary or imposed, each time makes reader tothink of ways creating narrative pictures of Italian journeys, pays attention to the strategiesof narrative identity. Italy – generally seen through the aesthetic and cultural stereotypesbecome a place of initiation, left after the specific transformation.
