Summary/Abstract: In today’s market economy, income polarization is intensifying, the precariousness of jobs and technological unemployment are rising. In this new reality there is a growing interest in the idea of guaranteed income, which signifies unconditional financial provision directed at every citizen of a given country. The main research problem is the search for the answer to the question of the legitimacy of the implementation of the guaranteed income concept in the context of the implementation of inclusive growth. The first part of the article is the analysis of secondary data, on the basis of which the scale of the risk of poverty and social exclusion in the European Union are illustrated. In the second part, the main features of unconditional basic income, the solution reflecting the idea of guaranteed income are presented based on the literature. The focus was on reviewing the arguments for and against the implementation of this solution.
