Summary/Abstract: The article presents an analysis of Polish military and propaganda films in the years 1960–1989 based on the perception of the communist guerrilla during the Second World War. The text provides an overview of the origins of the perception of the communist movement in the political system of the Polish People’s Republic. The author points out that such presentation of the communist guerrilla is an attempt to “seize the legend” of Polish independence units, mostly the Home Army (AK), in the absence of its own communist legend. The article examines the successive stages of presenting the communist guerrilla in the years 1960–1989.
