Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the image of the Independence Underground which existed in communist Poland in the years 1944-1945. The author provides examples of political propaganda in movies screened in the years 1960-1989 and describes three successive motives: the drama of mistrust between the Independence Underground and the communist authorities, the theme of national reconciliation as well as the theme of exclusion, condemnation and anonymization of Polish underground formations. The author discusses this problem in relation to the existing model of communist propaganda both in the Soviet Union and the communist countries of Central and Eastern Europe in the years 1944-1989.
