Summary/Abstract: The expected increase in the number of students spent a period of study in a foreign university, requires efficient management and administration of mobility, both from the university administration and the academic coordinators. One of the challenges universities still face, which impedes the full implementation of student mobility, is the accreditation of training and in particular - the systems that regulate conversion of grades from the host to the home university. This article explores some existing models for conversion of grades as well as some new approaches developed in recent years. The aim is to reveal that grades’ conversion from one university to another, as part of the process of internationalization, must be fair and transparent, but it is not only a matter of mathematics, therefore it is not a mechanical work. The original grade sends a message from a particular culture to another one. The real challenge in interpreting foreign grades is to translate that same message/meaning in a different language. Thus a fair and transparent treatment will be given to students and the results of the periods abroad will not interfere with their future academic or career development.
