Summary/Abstract: The article highlights a new educational program for training teachers: A Foreign Language and the Russian Language (major - Pedagogical Education, with two educational programs) and substantiates the priority status of a native language in teachers training. In the concept, special attention is paid to the inter-disciplinary and practice-oriented approach. The article also defines methodological guides that explain the object of the professional activities of a specialist – language and its functions. Educational technologies used in the teaching and learning activities are described. The domestic and international labor-market demand for specialists with developed competencies in a mother-tongue and a foreign language and with skills of performing professional activities in the multicultural environment is forecast.
