Summary/Abstract: The paper studies and compares the concepts and programs of codification of the Slovak and Belarusian languages related to folklore and folklore texts. The parameters and methods of folklore actualization, reflected in linguistic works and observed at different stages of formation of studied standard languages, are identified and analyzed. V. Karadžić’s codification activity was chosen as a basic level and factor of typological nature, which influenced the formation of codification concepts in the analyzed and other Slavic languages that did not have the status of official ones. Types of folklore actualization are identified by comparing the methods and specifics of the publication of classical genres of folklore and verified on the basis of closely related, but typologically different standard languages – Czech in relation to Slovak and Russian in relation to Belarusian.
