Summary/Abstract: We live in time of rapid events and frequent changes, and the accuracy of information that comes to us is of great importance. We know that the internet is abundant with a lot of unverified information, and that's why we rely on books and the accuracy of what is written in them. The question arises: "What to do when the truth of what is written in the textbooks is questionable?"We will deal with this issue in this article in the textbooks for mathematics from the first to the fifth grade of the nine-year elementary school. On the trail of this, we will conduct a survey with students of the Faculty of Educational sciences Sarajevo. We will investigate whether future teachers are sufficiently educated and skilled enough to find out some of the mistakes in the textbooks, and whether they are able to correct such a mistake and how. On the basis of the obtained results, we will offer a model for solving the observed problems.
