Summary/Abstract: The study contains memories, ideas and opinions on modern school of four chosen representatives of Slovak intelligence in the twenties of the 20th century. It interprets the teacher's problems, focuses on the teacher and, in particular, on the question of folk schools, explains the importance of schools nationalization. At the end, the timeless validity of thoughts not only for the present is outlined. The original language is deliberately left in many places in this article, so that reader can have an authentic impression.
