Summary/Abstract: The past two decades have accelerated the transformation of communicational channels and thus connections betweenpeople have changed, too. The emergence of online platforms has fundamentally changed typical forms of creating andmaintaining connections. Internet users (especially young internet users) are less and less likely to avoid adding an onlinedimension to their connections, should it mean a new channel for already existing connections, or forming new ones. Theprevious years have led to a signifi cant change in young people’s lives. These changes indicate the formation of a new culture, because at the same time when communicational spaces were rearranged, forms of culture consumption and transmissionhave changed, too. The youth culture that emerged in the mid-20th century has – through the reactions to technologicalchanges – become a new culture by the 21th century, that reorganizes and reinterprets traditional forms.
