Summary/Abstract: The article deals with musical and educational legacy of prominent figures of Ukrainian culture of the last third of the twentieth century Valentin Dubravin. As a result of the folklore component analysis a conclusion was made about the specifics of the concept of a scientist - organic combination in it a strong scientific base and applied practical focus.
