Summary/Abstract: The article discusses one of the most popular genres of Orthodox church music, works belonging to the genre of spiritual concert. The features of the liturgical chants of the second half of XVIII – early XIX century and held parallel to the present are analyzed. The article focuses on the difference of liturgical chants and non liturgical use of this genre, and also provides an attempt of their classification. The thesis that the genre of spiritual chants concert of the Ukrainian culture is the heritage of national importance is emphasized.
