Summary/Abstract: The article sketches an outline of exploring the role of the monument «The Motherland calls!» on Mamayev Hill in regional, national, and global symbolic politics. The author points out that the monument serves as an important resource of power relations; it is actively exploited in drawing symbolic boundaries, in producing meanings and evaluations.
