Summary/Abstract: Knockout is a biographical novel telling a story of a Polish-Jewish boxer Szapsel Rotholc who survived WWII in Warsaw ghetto by serving in Jewish police. After the war he was accused by the Jewish collegial court of unbecoming behavior and brutality. He emigrated to Canada where he died in 1996. The novel begins in 1934 when he wins brown medal during European Championship in Budapest and continues throughout his life in pre-war Poland, Warsaw ghetto, after-war Warsaw until his last years in Canada.
