Summary/Abstract: The analysis of the texts of prayers and hymns shows the richness of the lexical, phonetic and graphic language variants. The modernization of prayer texts, though desirable, should not be an impetuous process, carried out without linguistic knowledge. The collaboration of the authors of prayer books and linguists would help to eliminate variants that exceed the mandatory language standards.
