DIFFERENT WAYS OF TRANSLATING REALIA

Summary/Abstract: Realia designates a key concept in the theory and practice of translation. Knowledge of real-world terms facilitates the identification of the most appropriate translation equivalencies, helping to overcome translation obstacles or difficulties. In this paper we attempt to show how these elements are reflected in Serbian and Romanian spaces, while identifying some ways of translating these cultural dependent lexemes, in order to identify a cultural or functional equivalent.
