Summary/Abstract: The article aims at explaining the uniqueness of Ryszard Kapuściński’s writing and how it differs from the traditional model of genological reportage. The features characteristic for this type of creativity were described on the example of Podróże z Herodotem, one of the last books by Kapuściński. The generic complexity of his texts causes that it is not possible to unequivocally classify them. Thus, they still remain a separate phenomenon in the area of the documentary prose.
