Summary/Abstract: The notion of “lateral thinking” is characterized in the content, and the stress is put on the model of lateral thinking, the principals and the steps for changing thinking. Edward de Bono’s instruments of thinking are presented: the techniques “Six Thinking Hats”; “The Power of Perception” and “Simplicity” were described in detail. Special attention was paid to the authority of Edward de Bono as an indisputable author in direct teaching of thinking as a skill.
