Summary/Abstract: The article “Evaluation of Teachers: Teacher Performance Appraisal Instrument – Revised (TPAI R)” is aimed at articulating the importance of teachers’ appraisal for a wide professional group of novice teachers. A concrete evaluation instrument such as Teacher Performance Appraisal Instrument – revised (TPAI R), as a part of evaluation package used in the state of North Carolina, is presented. Author’s interpretations added to the appraisal package content along with description of approaches related to novice teachers’ evaluation demonstrate how important it is to be familiar with evaluation specifics such as: appraisal goals, novice teachers’ needs, key challenges before novice teachers, teacher professional development stages, typical issues in evaluation process and possibilities for their elimination
