Summary/Abstract: Women occupied a very important place in almost all economic entities of Tuzla in the period 1945-1953. years. At the end of 1945, there were 20,966 inhabitants in Tuzla: 10,497 women (50.07%) and 10,469 men (49.93%). In 1948, the city of Tuzla had 27,394 inhabitants: 14,238 women (51,97%) and 13,156 men (48,03%), and in 1953, 31,227 inhabitants: 15,733 women (50.38%) and 15,494 men (49 , 62%). The women worked and contributed to the development of Solana’s Kreka, Kreka mine, Graficar, Zdravljak, Hotel Belgrade and other companies. They were mostly employed in service activities (catering, hotel industry, tourism), and slightly less in light industry (food, textile, etc.). They were in the period 1945-1953. They played an important role in the economic development of Tuzla, but also in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole.
