Summary/Abstract: There are many misunderstandings and myths in the problem of the Church's opinion on National Socialism. For many years, this topic was quite unknown in social consciousness. But from more and more accessible sources the truth about condemnation by the church of this ideology and practice of National Socialism appears. In this article, the author presents the rising threat of Nazism in Germany and shows the genesis and historical-social context of the Encyclical's birth. There were also described exactly dramatic publication circumstances of the encyclical in Hitler Germany. The author also presents the means of coercion applied by the Hitler government, which were a behavior against the encyclical. For analysis, the content of the encyclical, its main ideas, and its unmasked nature were presented. Global criticism of ideology and Nazi practice shows their disagreement and opposition to the principles of God's revelation and the natural law. Among these contents belongs i.a. Doctrine of deification of the Hitler state, neo-paganism, racism, anti-Semitism and so on. The meaning of this document, according to the author, goes beyond its historical context. The Encyclical defines lines of defense against totalitarian threats that may appear in the future. Thus, the encyclical has developed such a defense method of human rights that differs from the liberal methods.
