Summary/Abstract: The article contains some considerations related to the risk of running a business, especially in its initial. The risk is presented in the context of Academic Enterprise Incubators (AIP)’ activity. From the beginning the aim of AIP has been to offer a place in Poland where a startup is possible to organize in a simple, fast and the least risky way. AIP have been helping young entrepreneurs at the beginning of their business for 12 years. The article is mostly focused on the AIP’ activity in the southwestern part of Poland.
