Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of a pilot study conducted in Polish Saturday Schools in London among children at the age of 13 to 15. The author concentrates on the analysis of the syntax in children’s papers. She examines whether the language competence in Polish is higher among the children who have recently come to England than among the children born in England.
