Summary/Abstract: The paper depicts demographic situation in Poland and in the European Union countries, proving that it is crucial to consider issues of life and of senior social performance. The aim of the paper is to show diversity of senior social roles in frames of national representative statistical data. The paper evaluates also the concept of senior social roles proposed by Zofia Szarota. On its’ grounds the author’s original concept of senior social roles is proposed. In the first section of the paper, trends and demographic prognoses are depicted. In the second section, by implementation of the author`s concept of senior social roles the analysis of senior social activity in Poland is done
