Summary/Abstract: In the article, case government in the texts written by students of Polish philology at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv is analyzed. The most typical verbal case government errors made by Ukrainian-speaking students are shown. The author discusses the advantages of text exercises, which help to deal with the negative language transfer in syntax.
