Summary/Abstract: Language politeness is a very important part of teaching Polish as a foreign language. Starting from the first lesson, students learn the basic expression. Thanks to the knowledge of such forms, it is much easier for the learners to communicate with others and what is more, the foreigners have a chance to explore a significant part of the Polish culture. In the materials for teaching Polish as a foreign language, different models of dealing with this issue are present. The textbook Hurra!!! Po polsku 1 was made for the A1 level and it includes, according to the recommendations of the CEFR, forms connected with greeting and saying goodbye, introducing oneself, thanking and apologizing. The article presents and discusses the various uses of those forms in the textbook. It also focuses on their frequency and the context in which the expressions are presented. In addition, their functionality and wide usage are emphasized.
