Summary/Abstract: John Paul II, although considered a great Pole, as well as a very important component of Polish national identity and the most recognizable symbol of Poland abroad, has not yet been addressed in Polish glottodidactics. In this article, some universal forms of JP II’s profile presentation are described. These forms are applicable in every Polish as a foreign language teaching context, regardless of students’ nationality or their religious affiliation. The teaching techniques presented are based on following text genres: a biographical note (an adapted text), selected headings of press articles published the day after JP II’s death, anecdotes about JP II, and several JP II’s golden thoughts (authentic texts).
