Summary/Abstract: This article draws our attention to the growing importance of the Internet in our daily life and to the necessity of working with it as well as presenting Internet-related vocabulary while teaching Polish as a foreign language. It is emphasized that the Internet provides the most easily available and the cheapest source of authentic texts that enable learners in Poland or abroad to develop not only language skills but also intercultural competence. Some of the possibilities of using the material from the Internet while teaching Polish as a foreign language at an elementary level and the methods of working with it, enabling students to develop skills such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing are discussed in this article. It also includes a short presentation of selected Internet programs and projects that serve as tools for teaching Polish as a foreign language.
