Summary/Abstract: The article presents the concept of being a child in ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia. It was marked by the respect for a child and his origin from gods. The aim of upbringing was to practically prepare a child for adult life and his social, civic and religious roles. This analysis is a basis for the idea of divine filiation in the New Testament study.
