USE AND PROTECTION OF THE SYMBOLS OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNITS

Summary/Abstract: The article is an analysis of legal regulations concerning the symbols of local government units. The main symbol is a herb that is part of the intangible cultural heritage, the local communi-ty through participation in heritage coat of arms can realize their cultural rights. The article pre-sents the legal basis for the establishment of coats of arms and, in particular, take the problem of the coat of arms and its protection in Polish law.
