Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to describe the word formation and semantic competence of Sarah, a 27-year-old woman suffering from a mild form of intellectual disability in order to confirm the claim that intellectual deficits can impede recognize of formal-semantic relations and interpretation of ambiguous words. The analysis is aimed at demonstrating the specific characteristics of denotative semantics which may prove to be a guideline for the application of appropriate speech therapy.
