Summary/Abstract: Music is the performer’s act; defined as a temporal, re-creative art, in its foundation it implies a complex chain of transmission of the artistic product to its final recipient. Different from other types of art, where this chain is based on a simple relation creator – artistic product – audience, the communication chain of music, between the creator (composer) and his work, on one side, and the audience, on the other, has an additional and very important chain link: the performer and his interpretation. The performer/interpreter is a filter through which the composer’s intention (art work), expressed through series of visual symbols (notes or signs), is presented to the audience, therefore the performer is a factor sine qua non. Analysis of music interpretation is a very complex process, which requires forming several important parameters based on which it becomes possible to characterize, describe and evaluate the entire performing process. On one hand, it is necessary to determine all general elements of the art of performing (depending on the type of instrument), and then determine the specification of several performing styles, and their relation to the general parameters. This can be clearly seen in the example of flute, as one of the very popular instruments with a long tradition in classical music.
