Summary/Abstract: The Argumentby analogy is one of the oldest methods of reasoning; his simplicity is noteworthy: itusually transfers a property from one object to another. This article presents the use of theargument by analogy in the ancient Greek thought, from presocratics to Plato andAristotle. Presocratics used it in their theories of nature, Platon used it in all the greatmoments of his philosophy to prove certain problems, while Aristotle had the firstlogical analysis of this type of argument, establishing that it is an inductive argumentwithout the force of a silogistic demonstration.
