Keywords: critical autobiography; confessions; Augustin – a writer of talent
Summary/Abstract: Augustin was a pioneer in the literary field, especially through his Confessions. The book is the first example of critical autobiography in the universal literature, being in this sense a predecessor of Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s Confessions. The anthologies place Augustin on the position of forerunner of the writers engaged on the path of confessions. The volume illustrates a peculiar preoccupation for that time, a great amount of talent and moral responsibility.
