Summary/Abstract: In this article I focus on different strategies of legitimation of actions as they are decoded through Critical Discourse Analysis and Critical Thinking (CDA-CT). The text selected for analysis is a speech delivered by George W. Bush on occasion of his second election as president of the USA in 2005. In the current article I will focus on the Inaugural address and I will present some of my conclusions following the joined CDA-CT analysis. This is to raise awareness regarding the multiple layers of meaning that political speeches can have.
