Summary/Abstract: The paper sets out to illuminate the theme of old censorship in comic magazines, in diachronic assessment, after 1918, following the rise of the new Czechoslovac republic, and after 1989, after the fall of the totalitarianism. It tries to compare the magazine „Nebojsa“ (1918-1920) and „Dikobraz“ (1945-1993). By comparing their approach it points out that both magazines reflected the theme in similar ways. What is important is that both magazines published the confiscated literary works, by authors of their redactorial circle. In addition, Nebojsa published satirical jokes of old censors, whereas Dikobraz published the memorial article of the editor-in-chief of the censorship of the 60s. Then, depending on specific historical circumstance, Nebojsa published satire on „new“ censorship and Dikobraz stopped echoing the theme, and turned to other current affairs. The paper concludes that the theme did not transform, the satirical object always being institutional censorship, without reflecting the concept of censoring in general.
