Summary/Abstract: International project „Współczesne dzieje języków słowiańskich – Komparacja systemowa i funkcjonalna języków słowiańskich” undertaken by prof. S. Gajda on the boundary of the 20th and 21st centuries was called upon to reveal the principal processes in Slavic languages. The proposed conception is dedicated to lexicology. The author distinguished three global tendencies in lexis of modern Slavic languages: qualitative within-the word changes, which reflect the tendency to preserve the status quo of the dictionary; quantitative changes as a reflection of the tendency to decrease the status quo of the dictionary; quantitative changes as a reflection of the tendency to increase the status quo of the dictionary. Typological tendencies, manifestation of the synthesis and analysis in lexis, etc. are being researched. The project of the lexicological research is appended to the article.
